Bring the entire application package, including the completed application form, the processing fee and all of the required documents and copies, to the appointment. Moreover, depending on individual situations, you may be expected to furnish additional documents, as procedures and rules may vary between embassies in different countries, and change over time. Contact the embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence to confirm requirements. It is mandatory that a certified translator translates the required documents into Spanish.
The following documents are generally required for visa application:
Application: Original visa application form and three photocopies, properly and completed filled in, signed and dated by the applicant. You can download and print an application from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
Passport: Original signed passport and two photocopies of the identity pages. The passport must have been issued less than ten years ago, must be valid for at least 12 months from the date of the application (for longer-stay visas only), must be valid for at least three months beyond the last date of the applicant’s stay in the country, and must contain two blank pages, side by side, for the visa.
Birth certificate and/or marriage certificate bearing the apostille of the Hague Convention.
Photocopy of one of the following: Legal driver’s license with photo, student identification card or other legally authorized government photo identity card.
Photos: Two current 1.38 in. x 1.78 in. (45mm x 35mm) color passport-type photos.
