Interns Going Global: 40% Want to Intern Abroad, says Vault.
Publication: Business Wire

Date: Monday, May 21 2007

NEW YORK -- Career publisher Vault Inc. (www.vault.com) has released its first-ever International Internship Survey and finds that 40% of students in the U.S. have interned abroad. The survey was conducted in early May and is comprised of 339 responses from college students across the U.S.

A majority of the respondents (58%) feel that international internships are crucial for future career success. The reasons why students chose to complete international internships included wanting to experience a new culture (60%), a desire to learn a new language (7%), and an interest in moving to a foreign country after graduation (33%).

Students used various methods to obtain their international internship: networking (46%), college career centers (21%), school clubs and organizations (12%), and responding to job postings (9%), among others.

Media seeking the full results of Vault's 2007 International Internship Survey should contact publicity@vault.com.
