A Comfortable Atmosphere for Business
Networking in Berlin
Towns and cities in Germany offer numerous
meetings and events where expats can go and feel at home speaking in
English. The American German Business Club-Berlin (AGBC-Berlin) e.V. and
AGBC are two clubs that offer a wide range of business-oriented meetings at
various venues.
The two clubs, while similar in name and
stemming from the same origin, have different administrations and websites.
For AGBC Germany, the website:
www.AGBC.de highlights
Germany-wide listings of their club events (excluding Berlin, which is not
part of their network). For AGBC-Berlin, clicking on
www.AGBC-Berlin.de
will help you find out about current and past events, gain access to the
club directory and find other pertinent information.
What does AGBC-Berlin offer for Expats?
AGBC-Berlin e. V. is an English-speaking
business club whose purpose is to build links between its diverse members in
a variety of businesses and professions through networking and club
activities.
The club offers a comfortable place for
professional or business-minded people from all nationalities to network.
The atmosphere is generally open and welcoming to newcomers. Most events
will have a speaker on a topic relevant to a range of business interests.
The dinner meetings are reasonably priced and there is usually plenty of
time for networking.
How often does the club meet?
The club holds monthly meetings during the
year at various locations in Berlin and Potsdam.
Why come to a meeting?
It’s an interesting place to make new
connections and friends. Many of the members are or have been expats and can
support you in getting settled in a variety of ways. Events provide the
opportunity to find a mentor, a business partner or a customer, or to form
business alliances.
Can I contact club members without coming
to meetings?
Yes, you can contact any of the club
officers or committee members through the website. In addition, many of the
club members are listed in the business directory with contact information.
What makes the club unique?
Not only are meetings held in English with
speakers on business issues, but also there have been many partnerships
formed, new relationship started and friendships developed through the
meetings.
