Cover Letter Guidelines and Samples
Your cover letter should not simply repeat information already found in your résumé/CV, but rather should provide a synthesized interpretation of the information that highlights achievements. Your letter should reflect a high level of professionalism and formality (such as using Usted instead of Tu in a Spanish-language letter), and should provide concrete information, as it will be the basis of the employer’s first impression.
Each cover letter should be unique and crafted for the specific position; avoid using general template letters.
Résumé / CV Guidelines and Samples
Your résumé/CV should be precise and concise. It should not exceed one page, unless you have a great deal of relevant work experience. Your CV is not an autobiography; rather, it should highlight experiences that are most relevant to the position being applied for, emphasize achievements and, wherever possible, should provide examples to support your assertions.
