The service sector has generally better withstood the ravages of the economic crisis.
HR and marketing are low-growth areas in terms of online recruitment. The best job prospects are to be found in entry level, service and sales positions; there is decreasing demand for managerial positions.
B2B (business-to-business) marketing in Italy focuses on three major areas: lead generation, customer engagement and use of Web 2.0.Digital advertising in particular has grown by leaps and bounds in Italy, exhibiting a growth rate above the European average last year.
Smart phones are also making serious headway in Italy, increasingly being seen as 'must-haves,' and although the market for apps is still in its early stages, it is expected to grow along with demand for smart phones and tablets.
