Argentina has become a hotspot for outsourced business services such as auditing, accounting and financial services and legal processes. Buenos Aires is the world's 15th best outsourcing city and fifth among emerging outsourcing cities, according to one study. Client contact centers are prevalent in Argentina and account for approximately 70,000 jobs. Most client contact centers are based in Buenos Aires.
Generally speaking, business confidence has dropped in Latin America, and notably in Argentina where business leaders are especially pessimistic and expect revenue to decline. According to a Grant Thornton business survey, only 28 percent of businesses expect to hire this year. Its latest Global Dynamism Index also ranks Argentina last regionally for its business environment.
Areas of Job Promise
Argentina has one of Latin America’s highest rates of broadband penetration. Furthermore, in light of the growing popularity of accessing the Internet via mobile devices, digital marketing is expected to expand in Argentina. Online advertising grew five-fold over the past five years and currently generates 337 million USD in revenue annually, a figure that is expected to grow to 603 million USD by 2018.
