Job Search Resources
Relatively few formal and informal means to search for and identify job opportunities exist in Nicaragua. Online tools and job/professional talent fairs, particularly multilingual ones, are not very common. In addition, due to a low Internet penetration level (10.2 percent), far below the average for Latin America (28.8 percent), the Internet is still rarely used to search for employment information in Nicaragua. Most local daily and weekly newspapers (chiefly La Prensa) publish job opportunities with various degrees of quality and in different quantities, on Sundays and Mondays.
Online Job Sites
Computrabajo Nicaragua http://www.computrabajo.co.cr (Spanish) Computrabajo, with more than 4,000 companies in its database, offers more than 390 job opportunities in Nicaragua on any given day. It also operates in Spain and most Latin American countries. Most services can be accessed without registering or filling in the résumé form. Positions can be identified through four different criteria: location, job category, date the opening was advertised and working day length (part-time, full-time and other). In addition, this site links directly to other companies’ information and recruiting sites.
