International trade – import and export - is a crucial segment of Peru's economy. Year-over-year, exports grew by 21 percent last month. Peru is a major exporter of minerals, crude oil and petroleum products, coffee, asparagus and clothing. Industry experts anticipate 40,000 new jobs will be generated over the next decade by new free trade agreements. Overall, experts predict Peru will export more than 50 million USD worth of goods this year, despite the shaky global economy.
