Job Search Overview
For foreign citizens, finding a job in Peru can be challenging for several reasons. First, online job resources have only recently become popular and there are only a few websites that list job vacancies. Additionally, job fairs are still very scarce in Peru. Other sources, such as classified advertisements in newspapers and employment openings published on individual company web pages, are more effective avenues for job seekers. The majority of this information, however, is provided only in Spanish. The limited listings that do appear in English are from foreign companies doing business in Peru. Positions with foreign companies are perhaps the most accessible options for English speakers seeking employment within Peru.
Online Job Sites
ABCG Servicios en Recursos Humanos (Spanish) www.abcgperu.com/empleos The ABCG Servicios en Recursos Humanos website enables users to register and upload their CVs. It provides a list of current vacancies that interested candidates may apply for after logging into their accounts. Job seekers can create an online curriculum vitae, complete a virtual interview, and design an online business card in addition to reviewing job postings and submitting applications online. This site also offers registration and directory listing services for employers who are seeking a forum to post job advertisements and review job applicants.
Government Employment Resources
Empleos Perú http://www.empleosperu.gob.pe/ Empleos Perú is managed by the Peruvian Ministry of Labor and provides job announcements from both the private and public sectors. Among other functions, the ministry helps people find jobs, promotes training and coordinates employment services. The website is entirely in Spanish and requires registration before a user can search job listings or apply for jobs.
Job Fairs and Career Events
Universia http://www.universia.edu.pe In addition to its job services (accessible at http://empleo.universia.edu.pe/index.cfm), Universia organizes the largest job fairs in Peru twice per year (normally in March and October). The site also offers a blog about employment issues and working in Peru (see http://empleo-peru.universiablogs.net/). For information about job fairs in Peru, it is recommended that the job searcher regularly check the calendar section (http://agenda.universia.edu.pe/) for upcoming events.
