Before applying for a job in Norway, read all available information pertaining to the company. It is acceptable to call ahead or send an email for additional information prior to mailing an application.
Business people in Norway often wear casual clothing, but it is appropriate to dress more formally and conservatively for a job interview. Men should wear suits and ties. Women should wear dress or pant suits.
Interview questions vary widely. A recruiter may pose a hypothetical question to watch your thinking process or an unpredictable question to see how you cope with the unexpected.
In Norway, it is not customary to send an email or call to thank the interviewer for his or her time after an interview. Usually it is the potential employer who calls or sends an email to either turn you down or offer the position.
