   :: Cultural Advice

Excerpted from the Spain Career Guide

Privacy and individual accomplishment of one's tasks are critical; workers provide what their bosses expect of them; plans, methods and reports can be time-consuming and complicated. Gathering the information required in order to provide what the boss expects, or creating consensus among colleagues in order to accomplish a particular goal, can take a long time.

Spanish men may treat women with particular respect in business and in social situations; this is meant as an honor in most cases. It is not common for women, however, to be in positions of authority in Spain. In the traditional Spanish workplace, women are usually relegated to lower-level management and administrative support positions.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Spain guide.
