:: Resume/CVs |
Excerpted from the Singapore Career Guide
Employers today often make up their minds about an applicant by reading
the initial summary and key skills section of a resume, and you must recognize
that this is your main sales and marketing tool. It must be written to
impress and grab the attention of the reader, highlighting your key skills
and experience and your suitability for the role. This section can be
either a full description paragraph or a list in a bullet-point format
to make specific points more distinct. You must include specific examples
of your achievements, such as "increased profitability over two years
by 25 percent" rather than using generic management jargon, and make
use of active keywords, such as negotiated or motivated.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete guide.
