According to the most recent figures from Statistics Netherlands, employment is the highest it has been in decades. Healthcare and government sectors accounted for one quarter of recent employment growth.

Commercial services manifested an above average growth in employment (2 percent), though the increase was less than in recent years. Commercial services, telecommunications, computer services bureaus, legal and economic services, and the retail trade led the field. Employment in manufacturing remains unchanged.
