Bio:
Lynn, founder and director of Career Mexico, started her counseling
career as an Admissions Counselor at Edgewood College in Madison,
WI. She moved into career counseling in 1999, working first with
university students at Colorado State University and the University
of Michigan, before moving to Mexico and starting her own company in
2004.
With a Masters’ degree in
Counseling & Career Development, her educational and theoretical
background perfectly complements her extensive professional and
practical experience.
She is a Member of the National
Career Development Association, the American Counseling Association
and the Mexican Association of Professionals in Orientation. She is
also a National Certified Counselor with the National Board for
Certified Counselors, Inc.
She has been involved in several
presentations and training courses, including:
“Helping Students with Their
English Language Resumes” (a training course for instructors of
career development course) and “Coming Soon...” (a workshop for
graduating university seniors) at the Instituto Tecnológico y de
Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico City, DF
“Career Development in a
Developing World: The Case of Mexico” at the National Career
Development Association Conference, San Francisco, CA
“Personality and the Job Search”
utilizing Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment; “Networking
101;” and “Funding Your Unpaid Internship” at the University of
Michigan:
“Creating Successful Pathways
for All Students”(facilitator with Rich Feller, Ph.D.) at the
Annual International Integration Conference, Beaver Creek, CO.
At Career Mexico, she counsels and
coaches individuals seeking employment and/or career change, and
consults with universities on strategies to develop and improve
their student career services.
