Excerpted from the Hong Kong Career Guide

Dress is a vital part of "face" in Hong Kong. One’s appearance, in any setting, is extremely important. One’s business attire is often highly scrutinized, and standard business attire in Hong Kong is very formal. The standard dress for both men and women is a dark, conservative suit. Pantsuits are not appropriate for women to wear in the Hong Kong business world.

On-time arrival is essential. It is unacceptable to arrive late for an interview. When at the interview, switch off your pager and cell phone to pay full attention to the interviewing executive. The usual greeting is a firm handshake and a slight bow. One should maintain a good posture and make eye contact without staring. Lowering the eyes is considered a sign of respect.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete guide.
