Excerpted from the Germany Career Guide
There are many ways to find jobs in
Germany. Previously used employment bureaus and newspapers
advertisements are slowly diminishing in their importance,
especially for jobs for highly qualified workers. With the growing
importance of the internet, online job recruitment plays an
increasing role in job placement. Online job sites, companies´
career sections on their own web sites and online recruiting
agencies are commonly used. The internet is particularly valuable
for foreigners who may not have access to the more traditional
methods of job-hunting. Professionals and executives with an annual
salary exceeding 69,000 EUR are advised to contact executive
recruiters.
Online Job Sites
Arbeitsagentur.de
http://www.arbeitsagentur.de/ (German)
Arbeitsagentur.de is a service portal provided by the German Federal
Employment Agency ("Bundesagentur für Arbeit"), gathering
together various job databases and job exchanges to offer a
multitude of job vacancies in one place. People searching for
vacancies can post their profile, search for suitable positions and
apply online. However, a number of companies—small, medium and even
large corporations—do not post openings here, citing the
Arbeitsagentur as inefficient with unqualified applicants.
FR-online.de
http://www.fr-online.de/anzeigenmarkt/stellenmarkt/stellenangebote/
This is the online job site for the
leading national newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau. About 3,000
nationwide job offers are posted on this site. Approximately one
third of the offers are for professional positions.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Germany guide.
