   :: Interviewing Advice

Excerpted from the France Career Guide

During the job interview process, a candidate should not be surprised to be asked very personal questions, which in some countries would be considered discriminatory and illegal. For example, women are frequently asked whether they intend to have children in the future. Granting a woman maternity leave can be a very expensive proposition to a company because she is allowed six weeks of maternity leave before the birth and up to three months after the birth. Even though the government is helping to cover her salary during this maternity leave, the company is required to keep the position, or an equivalent position, open to the candidate for up to two years.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete guide.
