Excerpted from the Canada Career Guide
Canadians are globally recognized as being creative and artistic, and this reputation has created large amounts of work for Web designers in Canada. But hiring practices have clearly shifted. "It used to be, 'We need somebody young and hip,'" says Julie Leeder, a recruiter for Toronto's McKinnon Management Group. "Now, they're looking for people from traditional backgrounds."
Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS)
CIPS represents IT professionals in Canada. Its mission is to help define
and foster the IT profession by encouraging and supporting workers, while
advancing the theory that drives the industry. CIPS members receive such
benefits as access to a national network of IT professionals, monthly
meetings, educational events, and more. The CIPS website provides visitors
with background information, membership information, technology news,
and an excellent events calendar.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete guide.
