Excerpted from the Belgium Career Guide
As a member country of the Schengen Agreement, Belgium’s visa
application process, particularly for short visits (those less than
three months), is straightforward. Schengen visas, regardless of
which member country issues them, are valid in 15 countries.
Receiving a work permit, however, is much more difficult. In
practice, Belgium only issues work permits to highly qualified
personnel, executives, researchers, trainees, au pairs and workers
in fields where there is a labor shortage in Belgium. Students
entering Belgium are permitted to work part-time during the course
of their studies and full-time during break periods; a work permit
is required for employment while school is in session.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Belgium guide.
