Excerpted from the Finland Career Guide
Finland is a member of the Schengen
Agreement, which means that visitors planning to stay in the country
for fewer than 90 days do not need to apply for a visa or entry
permit. However, all extended stays and some individuals seeking
employment or planning to study in Finland will be required to
obtain an entry permit or residence permit depending upon the length
of stay. If one plan to take up employment in Finland, even if it is
just temporary or short-term, make sure to obtain in advance all the
necessary work authorization papers and, if not self-employed, a
letter from the employer. Without proper papers, neither a visa nor
a residence permit will be issued.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Finland guide.
