Excerpted from the Denmark Career Guide
While it is not impossible to find
a job in Denmark, it is very difficult and takes a great deal of
time. Non-Danish speakers are at a disadvantage when applying for
jobs as Danish is the working language of most companies. Within
recent years, Danish companies such as Carlsberg, Danisco, Danfoss,
Lundbeck, Novo and Nordea have adopted English as their corporate
language. If one’s mother tongue is not English, chances of getting
a white-collar job are very slim.
Online Job Sites
Searching online job sites is the
most efficient and comprehensive way to begin looking for a job in
Denmark. Most are free for jobseekers, are generally searchable by
sector, and many have search engines that allow one to look for job
postings within selected criteria, such as geographic location,
educational background or salary range.
Nordic JobFinders
http://www.nyteknik.se/karriar.asp (Swedish)
Although this website contains information on Sweden and is in
Swedish, it does offer listings for Denmark. Users can search job
listings by any combination of country and region, job function,
free text search and type of employment (i.e., full time, part time,
summer work, trainee, temp). The search engine platform is powered
by MatchWork.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete
Denmark guide.
