:: Resume/CVs |
Excerpted from the Brazil Career Guide
It is quite common in Brazil for
professionals to prepare two résumés/CVs (curriculum vitas): a
one-page résumé/CV giving a brief overview of personal details,
educational background and professional experience; and a longer,
more comprehensive résumé/CV with more specific and detailed
descriptions of professional positions held, the duties involved,
main results achieved and other relevant technical details. The
longer résumé/CV is usually only presented upon request and need not
follow any strict stylistic conventions. For the most part
jobseekers will only need to send the shorter résumé/CV (there
should be both a Portuguese and English version prepared). In
preparing a résumé/CV, the jobseeker should avoid flashy fonts and
unnecessary decoration, and should use a standard A4 sheet with
Times New Roman (12 font) or Arial (10) font. The jobseeker may
attach a passport-size photograph if he/she wishes, but it must be
current.
You’ll find specific examples of
cover letters and CV’s relevant to Brazil in the complete Brazil
guide.
