While Brazil’s cost and standard of
living are the highest in South America, the cost of living is low
compared to most of North America and Europe.
Prices in Brazil have increased in
recent years, primarily fueled by gains in the local currency
against the US dollar. As of the most recent expatriate cost of
living survey conducted by UBS, average prices in São Paulo are the
highest in South America, but 21 percent lower than New York, the
highest in North America. Average prices in Rio de Janeiro are 22
percent lower than New York, according to the survey.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Brazil guide.
