The entire market for IT and telecommunications in Austria will grow
by 7.0 percent to 6.9 billion euro, according to officials from
Siemens Austria. Market research company IDC reported the revenue of
the Austrian mobile phone market recently grew 3.6 percent as a
result of intensified competition, compared to a 9.0 percent rise in
the leading mobile phone markets in Europe. Two-thirds of the
Austrian market is controlled by the two largest international
telecom companies. Through the next several years, the Austrian
mobile phone market is forecast to grow 3.3 percent annually.
