Argentina: Visas

Argentina issues short-term visas for tourists, business travelers and temporary workers. Argentina also issues long-term visas for students, employees of Argentine companies, employees of foreign companies working in Argentina and retirees (rentistas).
Period of Validity
Short-term visas are valid for 90 days or less, except short-term employment visas which are valid for no more than 15 days. Short-term visas may be renewed once after the initial issuance.
Employment visas are issued for no less than six months and no more than one year. Student and rentista visas are issued for one year. Each of these visas is eligible for renewal.
Exemptions
Citizens of the following countries do not need a visa for tourist stays of 90 days or less:
Andorra, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Holy See, Honduras, Hong Kong S.A.R., Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (Republic of), Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, San Marino, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela
Citizens of the following countries do not need a visa for business trips of 90 days or less:
Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Guyana, France, Hong Kong S.A.R., Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Korea (Republic of), Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom and United States
In addition, citizens of Grenada may enter without a visa for business trips lasting 30 days or less.
If a visitor carries an alternative travel document (such as a U.S. Reentry Permit, Republic of Korea Travel Document or Refugee Travel Document), he must have a visa to enter Argentina, regardless of his nationality or citizenship status.
