Excerpted from the Spain Career Guide

Living in Spain may require adjusting to a slower pace of life. In Spain, businesses open late, may close for lunch, and then open again in the early evening until dusk. Banks, post offices, and even supermarkets have restricted hours. Sunday is a day for resting, and not even big department stores are open (except maybe once a month).

Most Spanish people are reluctant to speak English because they are extremely self-conscious, so it is wise to learn Spanish if you are planning on living and working in Spain.

Business is most often conducted in a casual and amiable environment. Business deals are often conducted in the course of long lunches, which occur between one thirty and four o’clock in the afternoon.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Spain guide.
