Excerpted from the Spain Career Guide
In the last decade, employment activity in Spain has been positive. According
to the National Institute of Employment (Instituto Nacional de Empleo,
or INEM) at the end of 2001, annual employment growth, which had been
much higher in the last years, was 1.75 percent. The services and
construction sectors are increasing in profitability, and the agricultural
and industrial sectors profitability is decreasing.
According to the National Statistics
Institute (Instituto Nacional de Estadística, or INE), unemployment
has decreased. Temporary employment has also decreased in favor of permanent contracts.
