Excerpted from the India Career Guide
One of the more obvious cultural differences in India is interpersonal distance, which is closer than in Western countries. Additionally, men and women avoid physical contact with each other, so shaking hands is not a traditional greeting between sexes.
Other body language, such as the nod of a head, does not necessarily mean the listener agrees with you. Scheduling an appointment may be a challenge, as meetings in India are not always set by the clock. Bureaucracy may also prove difficult to navigate; patience is key. Conservative dress, especially for women, is suggested.
This is just a sample of what you will find in the complete India guide.
