Beijing recently established a Technology Innovation Fund, a portion of
which is earmarked for tech start-ups founded by students returning to
China to build their careers. China’s more than 70,000 small and
medium-sized tech enterprises offer many employment opportunities. In
the southern coastal city of Shenzhen, in Shanghai, and in Beijing's Zhongguancun
Hi-Tech Development Zone, there is a proliferation of information technology
companies. Optimism continues because of the Chinese government’s
commitment to developing the technology industry, as well as Chinese consumers’
eager adoption of technology.
With the industry’s rapid development, there is a shortage of IT
professionals. Thousands of job openings in the IT sector and related
fields cannot be readily filled.
