Excerpted from the China Career Guide

Job titles in China are very important, and the highest ones, such as Vice President, are usually reserved for people at very senior career levels, and should not be used as casually as they are in some countries. Complimenting and rewarding publicly is usually not done when living in China. Subordinates should show deference to their seniors; paternalistic concern is often shown by seniors to subordinates.

In China the color red is a sign of wealth and success when used in relation to products and services. Also associated with success and power are gold and yellow. Blue does not hold any special meaning. Green, unless used with jade, may get some negative reactions. It is best to avoid black and white since both are associated with funerals. The number nine is considered lucky, since it signifies good luck, wealth, health, and happiness. Four is considered unlucky, mainly because the sound of the word for four is similar to the word for death.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete China guide.
