Excerpted from the Brazil Career Guide
Brazil is a Luso-African culture, meaning that its roots are primarily
in Portugal and Africa. Therefore, the language is Portuguese. Never use
Spanish unless invited to do so. In Brazil, it's Brasil. Brazilians' pace
of living is slower than the pace in many other countries, and negotiation
demands ongoing personal contact. It is rare for important business deals
to be concluded by telephone or letter. The slower pace of business negotiation
does not mean that Brazilians are less knowledgeable than others of industrial
technology or modern business practices.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Brazil guide.
