Excerpted from the Austria Career Guide
If you are making a career move in Austria, both your cover letter and CV should indicate your professional competence and your basic familiarity with Austrian protocol. Job seekers should keep their cover letters to no longer than one page, and should include information about the position desired, the initial source of information about the job, and job qualifications. While it is sensible to briefly highlight the most relevant aspects of your career development and educational training, the focus of the cover letter should highlight and elaborate on relevant personal skills, rather than merely repeating the content of your CV. Lastly, end the cover letter with a request for an interview.
In your CV, include, in five succeeding sections, information on personal details, education and vocational training, work experience, special skills, and your interests and hobbies. All of this should fit on a maximum of two pages. Unlike the cover letter, which can be more elaborate, the CV should be kept strictly factual.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete guide.
